The Athletic Learning Center provides tutorial and study space for all student athletes at the University.
Originally designed in 2003 by OPN Architects, the 21,000-square-foot facility contains an instructional space, library, and administrative offices on the first floor. The second level contains an upper-class study lounge, under-class study lounge, computer lab, tutorial rooms, and additional administrative offices. A third floor attic houses mechanical space and approximately 5,000 square feet of shell space for future growth.
In 2017, OPN worked with the University to build-out the third floor for study spaces and update approximately 20,445 square feet on the first and second floors. The renovation successfully added a cafe, redistributed staff offices, and provided the desired mix of small group study rooms, large group study rooms, informal study space, quiet study space, and computer areas. The scope of work also included upgrades of technology, electrical and mechanical systems in addition to interior finishes and furniture, all with 21st-Century learning in mind.
