Architect – K-12 Region Leader

OPN Architects is an award-winning architectural firm with multiple studios serving the greater Midwest. Our open studio environment nurtures design excellence and rewards professional growth.  We are currently seeking an Architect with an extensive K-12 portfolio for our established and growing Education Market in the Eastern Iowa regional area.

The ideal candidate shall be a licensed architect with a minimum of 8 years’ experience with primary career focus in K-12 education. Experience and related skills shall include an advanced knowledge of the K-12 market in Business Development and Client Relations, Pre-Bond Services and Funding Options, Programming, Planning and Design, applicable Building and Life Safety Codes, all phases of Construction Document delivery and Construction Administration.

Leadership experience shall include building consensus from diverse viewpoints, and a clear understanding of the language specific to the K-12 education market. Professional affiliations focused on the education market is a plus.

Emerging Professionals

We are currently seeking talented Emerging Professionals to join our dynamic team in Cedar Rapids or Iowa City, Iowa; or Madison, Wisconsin studios. The ideal candidate will have an architectural degree and 1-4 years’ experience.

Our open studio environment and collaborative approach to architecture requires that you work well with others and consistently build strong relationships with teammates and clients.  The right person for our studio will have a balanced skill set including design, building technologies, Revit and 3D-modeling experience.  The ideal candidate will have the ability to work on projects from design through construction, communicate effectively, and work independently and within a team.

Creative Strategist

OPN Architects is an award-winning architectural firm with multiple studios serving the greater Midwest. Our open studio environment nurtures design excellence and rewards professional growth.  We are currently seeking a talented Creative Specialist to join our dynamic marketing team in our Cedar Rapids, Iowa City, and Des Moines, Iowa, or Madison, Wisconsin, studios.  If you love crafting a message in multiple mediums under often tight deadlines, we want to talk to you. Our search will not be guided solely by years of experience or skillset. We are looking for the right fit.

The ideal candidate would have three to five years’ experience, a bachelor’s degree or higher in marketing, communications, journalism, or a related field. Emphasis will be placed on strong writing and editing skills, attention to detail, ability to prioritize and multi-task, synthesizing information from multiple sources, and advanced experience and proficiency in graphic programs such as InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop and PowerPoint are required. OPN is currently hiring for the following part-time internship position:

Human Resources Intern

We are currently seeking a Human Resource Intern to join our dynamic team in our Cedar Rapids, Iowa, office. This position will assist with the implementation of a new HRIS, focus on strengthening recruiting efforts, and assist with generalist tasks and responsibilities.

The ideal candidate will have completed a minimum of 3 years of Human Resource Studies. Inquisitiveness, interest in conducting research, organization, written/verbal communication skills, and attention to detail are required. One must also be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite. This position will work 15 – 22 hours per week, through the end of May 2024, with the possibility of extending through the summer. Hours are flexible to accommodate school schedules and responsibilities. Remote work is not available for this position
