The Hixson-Lied Student Success Center on the Iowa State University campus houses the combined program requirements of the Christina Hixson Opportunity Awards Program, the Academic Success Center, and the Athletic Center for Educational Services. Each program provides a variety of services to strategically support and increase academic achievement and retention for all students with a focus on academically vulnerable students. The design of the new facility improved the efficiency of resources and communications.
The facility was constructed on the site of the existing Wallace Road Office Building, located between the Fisher-Nickell and Andrews-Richards Houses. Building materials and details were designed to complement the historic context of the surrounding Richardson Court Association.
