The Francis Marion Intermediate Renovations and Addition project is part of a $36 million facilities Master Plan for the Marion Independent School District.

This project includes extensive renovations to the interior classrooms of Francis Marion Intermediate which resulted in a new special education room, administrative support spaces, classrooms, and corridors. New music and art classrooms, restrooms, and interior courtyard space are along the school’s south wing. A new administration and entry addition took the place of an existing classroom wing that has been demolished and repurposed. The new entry houses the principal, nurse, conference room, meeting spaces for adjunct, and a secure entry with updated sprinkler and fire alarm systems that extends across the entire campus.

The parking lot and sequence for pick-up and drop-off flow is intentionally designed to reduce back-up along the street and avoid bus and parent drop-off crossover.
