Founded in 1895, City State Bank serves clients throughout the Des Moines metro area from its headquarters in Norwalk. The bank, with whom OPN has worked since 2006, sought to consolidate four separate facilities into one headquarters in Norwalk.

Desiring a contrast from the cold grey stone of the existing bank in downtown Norwalk, the new headquarters incorporates limestone and wood on the exterior. The natural wood elements are carried into the interior as accents to the exposed steel structure.

Reflecting the bank’s community focus, office fronts are all glass connecting employees to their customers. The lawn, too is designed to accommodate events for both employees and the community. An advocate for the economic development of their community, the bank has also planned for retail tenant space for a coffee shop or café.
Other interior spaces include: Lobby, Teller, Vault, Board room, Conference rooms, Private offices, Open workstations, Break room & workroom, Storage.
