As a result of the Campus Master Plan, the first project on the main academic campus to be built was a new three-story 90,000-square-foot classroom building. The Academic Student Services department, along with the Social Sciences and English departments will be the facility’s primary occupants.
Primarily a classroom building, there are 36 large and small instructional classrooms and 11 instructional computer labs. Academic Student Services occupies space to support individual and group tutoring, supplemental instruction, and various testing services.
The building also includes writing labs, a suite for classroom teaching evaluation, and special skills labs, as well as 53 faculty offices.
The building is uniquely positioned to establish a new “East Side Center”, specifically around a two-story student commons. The new building, and the commons, acts as a hub for general education/Social Science students, providing venues for informal learning and social interaction.
