Ashlee Boelter

Ashlee is a 2023 ISU Bachelor of Architecture grad and a former OPN intern. This born and raised Iowan started out in Engineering at Iowa State, but went to her first engineering career fair and was asked what her dream job was. When she said, “I would love to design buildings and be challenged by creativity in my job,” she was told she should look into architecture, and the rest is history! Now in the field, she loves being able to learn something new every day, seeing designs come to real life, and have a positive effect on how people live. She has said architecture can be a representation of how we see ourselves, but also how we see the world.

Q. What inspires your work?

A. The ability to have a positive affect on the environment around us. Architecture can be a representation of how we see ourselves, but also how we see the world which is a beautiful thing!

Q. If you could eat one food for the rest of your life, what would it be?
A. Soup. I love soup because you can make so many different kinds!
