Wesley Reynolds

Wesley Reynolds has been an architect at OPN Architects for more than half of his life. Immediately after graduating in 2000, he joined OPN. In 2013, Wes became a principal, the youngest of the firm’s eight, and founded the Madison studio. Equally drawn to historic and modern design, Wes has worked on the restoration of iconic historic architecture as well as authored modern design for spaces intended to leave their own lasting legacy. He is inspired by the potential beneath peeling paint, the power of collaboration, and the people who will inhabit the spaces he designs for generations to come.

Q: What do you like about your industry?

A: As Architects we do not realize how different we see the world. Every day through the creative work we do we change how the world lives. We get to enhance how a person learns, works, and plays. We design spaces and places that will be here for 50 to 100 years. We have to take this role very serious and not take for granted the mission we have to better human kind through the built environment.

Q: Which phase of a project is your favorite?

A: The end. That moment you walk into the completed building you see everyone’s thoughts and ideas physically manifested.
