Mekena Little

Mekena joined OPN as a Creative Strategist in the fall of 2024. Growing up in the Des Moines area, Mekena went on to attend Iowa State University where she received her BFA in Graphic Design. Mekena enjoys the broadness of design having an intersectionality with so many different paths to explore.

Mindful of purpose and user experience, Mekena designs with intention—whether it is to evoke a feeling, relay a message, or anything in between. She is inspired by the world around her, especially through music, nature, and people.

Q: Past experience/notable projects/senior thesis?

A: My senior capstone project was creating a family cookbook called Just a Pinch. I created physical and digital deliverables including playlists to listen to while cooking lunch, dinner or dessert, stickers, posters, published and printed copies of the book, and a mechanical recipe dispenser.

Q: If you were a cake flavor, what would you be?

A: Pineapple Upside Down cake, it’s good on any occasion.
