One Community Bank honored by AIA Wisconsin
The design of the Cottage Grove bank was recognized with a 2024 Merit Award this fall by the American Institute of Architects Wisconsin Chapter.
The One Community Bank in Cottage Grove, Wisconsin is designed to underscore the unbeatable service, client-oriented support, and practical environment the bank revolves. This year, being one of 14 recognized projects, the intentionality of One Community Bank’s design goes to show the power of biophilia and mindfulness of geographical surroundings. Materials and design were selected for durability, longevity, and the user experience for both employees and visitors.
“‘Temple-like’ for a utilitarian program. A very nice floorplan rigorously executed.”
Corey Squire, AIA (2024 Design Awards Juror)
The calming interior illuminated by natural light during operating hours brings a new experience to banking. Open spaces, lifted volume and practicality enhance the daily function and mood of everyday staff and the people they serve. Using AIA’s Framework for Design Excellence, this project goes above aesthetics to delve into the longstanding efforts towards more sustainable architecture.
