Malcolm Brom

Malcolm’s interest in architecture was first sparked, like many people, by Legos. Being from Grand Rapids, when it came time to pursue higher education, Malcolm went to the University of Michigan for his bachelor’s in architecture. It was his master’s that led him to the University of Minnesota, and he has called the Twin Cities home ever since. Malcolm has worked on the Metro Transit light rail station design, Juxtaposition Arts in North Minneapolis, and Keystone Community Services in Saint Paul.

Q: What inspires your work?

A: I draw a lot of inspiration from light, nature and art. I think the best way to make a building last is to make it beautiful, both as an object and as you experience it.

Q: If there was a movie about your life, who would star as you?

A: Ideally, Danny DeVito
